Symposium on “Grid-Forming Technology and the New Type of Power System” held at NARI
2024-12-08

The “Grid-Forming Technology and the New Type of Power System” symposium, part of the Purple Mountain Forum, took place on December 7 at NARI Group Corporation (State Grid Electric Power Research Institute). The event brought together approximately 300 participants, including industry experts, scholars, and distinguished guests. Among the attendees were six members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, one member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and one member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences.

Organized by the State Key Laboratory of Technology and Equipment for Power System Operational Risks Prevention and sponsored by the State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, the forum provided a platform for leading experts to explore the latest advancements in grid-forming technology and its role in shaping a new type of power system. Discussions focused on the integration of this technology into modern energy systems, addressing both scientific research challenges and real-world engineering applications.

Experts also shared insights on emerging technologies, innovative energy models, and future trends that will help drive the development of a new power system. These advancements are designed to facilitate the development of a new power system that is low-carbon, safe, abundant, cost-effective, and characterized by enhanced supply-demand coordination, flexibility, and intelligence.
