2024-08-20

From August 17th to 18th, the 2024 China Academy of Engineering (CAE) Engineering and Technology Academic Seminar and the 9th Zijin Power Electronics Academic Seminar were held in Nanjing. The event was jointly hosted by the Energy and Mining Engineering Division of the China Academy of Engineering and NARI Group (State Grid Electric Power Research Institute), with the National Key Laboratory of Power Grid Operation Risk Prevention Technology and Equipment serving as the organizer.

The seminar invited 60 academicians, professors, and scholars from China, the United Kingdom, and Canada to discuss the theme of "New Energy Systems with New Power Systems as the Key Support." The participants shared the latest research findings and assessed new technologies, models, and business formats in the energy and power sector, aiming to support the development of a clean, low-carbon, safe, sufficient, economically efficient, demand-supply coordinated, and flexible smart power system.

The conference focused on the integration of energy technology and digital technology from an international perspective and a broad energy viewpoint. It explored trends in the development of new power system protection and operation control, artificial intelligence and smart grid technologies, renewable energy generation, and green hydrogen production. The discussions aimed to enhance the role of the power system as a hub connecting energy production and consumption, address the challenges of sustainable energy development, and make a positive contribution to the construction of a new power system.
